Each year, pumpkins and witches come out to play and children dress up in their favorite costumes. Throughout the month of October, there are a few places that have Parades, Festivals and pumpkin experiences that you do not want to miss. Take part in one of the parades and maybe win prizes for your creativity. Make sure to tag #NJMOM in your pictures of costumes.
Giant Pumpkin Carve
Each year, artists of all different skill levels come together to carve beautiful pumpkins. The giant pumpkins are put on display after they are carved and then judges decide on the best design. With a pumpkin light show, hayrides, costume contest and food vendors, this unique and family-friendly Halloween activity is not one to miss.

The Glow: A Jack O Lantern Experience
Grab your coat and your hot chocolate and take a walk down Jack’s Lane at the Jack O Lantern Experience. This memorable experience includes over 5,000 jack o lanterns that are all lit up and ready for you to be amazed. Some of the pumpkins are small and have one carving in them while others are huge structures. Venture into the pirate ship where you will find ghostly creatures and wander through the 16 foot dinosaurs.

Goblins in the Garden Family Festival
Dress the whole family in their Halloween costumes and head to Camden Children’s Garden for a ghouling good time. This family-friendly event includes a haunted train ride, characters throughout the Garden and a Costume Parade. Kids have the opportunity to trick or treat during the parade.

Cape May Halloween Parade
Come on down to Historic Cape May and enjoy their annual Halloween Parade. Right before the parade there will be trick or treating, starting at noon, at the Washington Street Mall. At the end of the parade, prizes will be given to the most creative costume.

Ocean City Halloween Parade
Floats, costumes and fun will be had at the Ocean City Halloween Parade. Join in on the festivities and dress the family in their costumes or find a spot on the sidewalk and take in the sights of the holiday.

Point Pleasant Costume & Float Parade
Bring your pets, family, or group to Point Pleasant and have fun in the Parade. There will be floats and musical acts participating in the Parade. This annual event is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

The Rise of the Jack O Lanterns
A truly unique experience, the Rise is a scare-free and exciting attraction to see with the whole family. With over 5,000 illuminated pumpkins, the jack o lanterns are intricately designed and carved. There will be a few live stations where you can see how they craft the pumpkins into the beautiful masterpieces you see along the walking route. Some of the pumpkins are over 100 pounds and amazing to see.

19th Century All Hallows Eve
Travel back in time at Allaire’s Historic Village and celebrate All Hallows Eve the way they did in the 19th Century. There will be pumpkin picking, historic games and story telling, a costume parade and so much more. They were simpler times and that is what you will find at the celebration, perfect for the entire family.
