Here are 11 things to do this weekend around New Jersey

1. Flemington Opa! Greek Festival
September 7 5PM-10PM, September 8 12PM-10PM, September 9 12PM-7PM
Celebrate this weekend with Greek music and folk dancing, authentic Greek food and pastries, pony rides, carnival games, and shopping. Be Greek for a day and say “Opa!” all day long.

2. Sparta Renaissance Festival
September 8-9, 10AM – 7PM
You’ll shop all things Renaissance at this fair, which offers Celtic jewelry and artwork, flower crowns, fairy wands, pottery, gourmet food, live entertainment, and so much more. Check out the Jousting Field and watch a real live joust before your eyes. Be sure to dress in your best Renaissance garb.

3. Monmouth Park Food Trucktober Fest
September 8, Gates open at 7:30AM
Monmouth Park Racetrack wants to help you celebrate one of the last nice weekends in NJ, with tons of food trucks. Before you know it, the food trucks will be gone and you’ll be cuddled up with a pumpkin spice latte on your Saturday evenings. Feast on butterfly fries, lobster rolls, empanadas, Thai food, doughnuts, and others. Feeling adventurous? Try an alligator burger.

4. Asbury Park Oysterfest
September 7-9, Friday 5PM – 10PM, Sat & Sun 11AM – 10PM
It’s a festival of seafood, music, beer, wine, and it’s all right by the beach. Across from the Asbury Park Convention Hall is where you’ll find the Asbury Park Oysterfest – a time to celebrate seafood fare and oysters, beer tents, and even a wine tent from Tavernello’s “No. 1 Wine in Italy.” The Asbury Park Brewery will have it’s own tent and feature local Asbury beers. Bonus: Friday night is “Asbury Park Open House Night,” which means free entry.

5. Annual Kites at the Pier Festival
September 8, 9AM
As if Pier Village isn’t fun enough, there’s a day dedicated to kites and kite flying. All kinds of kites will fly over Long Branch beach – different colors, shapes, and sizes. Check out the Running of the Bols competition – where families compete by latching onto an 8-foot parachute-kite and running into the wind, both fun and exhausting.

6. Sunflower September
September 8 – 9 , 9AM –  5PM
What a better way to celebrate the beautiful month of September than with acres of sunflowers? Head over to Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm for picking sunflowers, a sunflower photo trail for those picturesque moments, a Tomasello wine tasting, live music, farm market, hay rides, and animal farm.

7.4th Annual NJ Taco Festival
September 8, 10AM – 8PM
Grab your sombreros and donkeys for the 4th Annual NJ Taco Festival. This event boasts all-day nonstop taco party action and will judge the tacos presented among 5 different categories. You and the family can jam to live music, watch pepper and spicy taco eating contests, root for your favorite tacos, and watch a Chihuahua beauty pageant.

8. Laurita Grape Stomping
September 8, 11AM – 9PM, September 9, 11AM – 7PM
Wine just got a whole lot more fun for the whole family. Bring the kids to Laurita Winery for grape stomping, a giant playground, food, live music, face painting, and a psychic. Get your feet dirty with som good ol’ grapes.

9. Atlantic City Seafood Festival
September 8 – 9, 11AM – 6PM
What’s better than the beach, local craft brews, and locally-sourced seafood? Wait, don’t answer that, just head over to the Atlantic City Seafood Festival. There’s a pet costume contest, a Chowder cook off, a butterfly exhibit, Kids Play Zone, South Pacific Island dancers, and Carve Wars – a chainsaw carving competition.

10. Roar to the Shore
September 6 – 9, 2018
Have a little motorcycle lover on your hands? Bring them to the free motorcycle rally “Roar to the Shore” that’s visiting central Wildwood again. Enjoy the beach, amusement rides, bike shows all day and night, live music, and join the Rubber Duck Ride – a scenic ride through Wildwood.

11. Autism Beach Bash
September 9, 9AM – 4PM
Why not celebrate summer and the beach one last time? And give back too? You can have fun and learn something new at the Autism Beach Bash in Belmar. Dance to the music, make arts and crafts, and enjoy lunch at this event which benefits families and individuals living with autism spectrum disorders.
