Want to celebrate healthcare workers and do good? RWJBarnabas Health is once again teaming up with the New Jersey Devils to host their annual Running with the Devils 5K Run and Wellness Walk on October 30th. And this year, you can choose a race at your pace—sign up to run 5K, do a wellness walk on the day of the event, or do it virtually all month long. Plus, there’s a bonus to all participants you can’t pass up—FREE entry to the Turtle Back Zoo. Choose how you want to participate
This annual event supports the commitment that RWJBarnabas Health and the NJ Devils uphold to work towards a healthier community by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and world-class healthcare. Sign up to run or have the whole family participate in the Live Wellness Walk on Sunday, October 30th. Kids will love the route that takes you past the animals at the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo (and can see even more animals up close with free entry to the zoo after the race). Can’t make it that day? Sign up to do the race virtually on your own time. And whatever way you participate,100% of the proceeds from the event will be used to support essential Healthcare Heroes in their efforts to protect and build healthier communities.

Be a part of the fun
The Live 5K Run will feature a competitive 5K race on a USATF Certified Course, down Cherry Lane and the scenic reservoir at South Mountain Recreation Complex. The Wellness Walk, which will take place within Essex County’s award-winning Turtle Back Zoo, is self-paced, and participants may arrive any time between 9 AM and noon. Your family will love to see the New Jersey Devils famous mascot, along with several mascots from New Jersey-based Universities and active players, as well as past ones, cheering you on all the way. And here’s yet another reason to sign up—all registered participants of both the run and walk receive FREE entry to Turtle Back Zoo on the event day.
Can’t make it in person by still want to show your support? Download the RunGo App, and you can record your time and hear supportive messages from the New Jersey Devils players and RWJBarnabas Health patients and medical personnel. Virtual participants are also eligible for benefits and prizes, including FREE access to the Turtle Back Zoo on one day between October 31-December 31, 2022.

Ready to sign up for Running with the Devils? Here’s how
Registration for the event (Live or Virtual, Run or Walk) is $30-$35. Children 11 and under are FREE. Once registered, virtual participants can download the RunGo App in preparation to run in their neighborhood, at a local park in their community, and even on a treadmill. Awards will be presented to the top three male/female/non-binary participants and the top three winners in each age category (Live & Virtual). There are also prizes for fundraising, including tickets to Devils’ games and more. Registration is open through midnight on 10/29/22. Can’t participate? You can still get in on the action of giving back by donating or contributing to someone you know that’s racing.
