DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the musical legacy of New Brunswick’s own James P. Johnson\, who penned the ‘Charleston\,’ the defining song and dance of the 1920s. Swing and sway to the signature jazz melodies of Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra\, the world’s premier Jazz-Age dance orchestra\, and learn to cut a rug with dance lessons from The Canarsie Wobblers. The day will also feature a vintage DJ playing records from the early 1900s to the 1930s on wind-up phonographs with a “special appearance” by an Orthophonic Victrola.
