DESCRIPTION:The Sparta Elks are proud to announce the return of the Sparta 4th of July Parade\, celebrating the 250th anniversary of America. \nAs the only Independence Day parade in Sussex County\, this historic event will bring together local organizations\, marching bands\, veterans\, first responders\, businesses\, dance teams\, community groups\, vendors\, and families for a day honoring freedom\, patriotism\, and community spirit. \nThe parade will take place in Sparta\, New Jersey on July 4th at 10:30 am. It will travel down East Shore Trail through White Deer Plaza and end at Dykstra Park. The Sparta Elks are inviting participants\, sponsors\, trophy sponsors\, vendors\, and food trucks to be part of this milestone celebration. There will be music\, beer garden\, food trucks\, games\, face painting and awards! \n“This parade is more than just an event- it’s a celebration of American pride\, local tradition\, and the incredible spirit of our community\,” said Laura Wieczezak of the Sparta Elks Lodge. “As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary\, we are honored to host a parade that brings people together to celebrate our history and future.” \nThe Sparta Elks are currently seeking:\nParade marchers and community groups\nLocal businesses and corporate sponsors\nTrophy sponsors\nFood vendors\nProduct sales or informational vendors \nSponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels\, offering businesses and organizations visibility throughout the celebration while supporting a cherished community tradition.

Highlights at Morven include: a dramatic reading of Frederick Douglass’ 1852 speech\, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” with award-winning poet David Mills; contemporary music from the Vintage Vibe Tribe and period music with John Burkhalter of the Practitioners of Musick; tours of Morven’s historic gardens; Civic Education Station artmaking and crafts; activities with community partners: Princeton Public Library\, Princeton YWCA\, Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum\, Not In Our Town Princeton\, and RevolutionNJ; Open archives with the Historical Society of Princeton; face painting with Maya B.
