Part of the RevolutionNJ Race Series\, the event begins at 8:30 a.m. and offers a unique way to engage with New Jersey’s Revolutionary War history. \nWhile the race takes place entirely on the scenic trails of Croft Farm and Pennypacker Park\, it is part of the larger Haddonfield Skirmish weekend\, commemorating Haddonfield\, NJ’s role in the American Revolution. The event highlights key historic sites\, including the Indian King Tavern Museum\, where in 1777\, New Jersey’s legislature met to formalize the state’s break from British rule and enforce its new constitution. \nThe RevolutionNJ Race Series draws inspiration from Jonas Cattell’s legendary run to warn American troops of a British attack at Red Bank Battlefield. This race is one of six in the series\, with additional events planned at Monmouth Battlefield\, Princeton Battlefield\, Washington-Rochambeau Route\, East Jersey Old Town and Red Bank Battlefield. \nWhether running\, walking\, or cheering from the sidelines\, participants will experience a race that blends fitness\, history\, and community celebration. Miles for Matheny is our largest annual fundraiser\, and event proceeds will support medical\, educational\, and therapeutic services for our students and residents. \nThis community celebration has something for the whole family. You can register for our Trail Run/Walk\, which features stunning views of the Matheny campus\, the nearby Blairsden estate\, and the surrounding Somerset Hills. Kids 3 – 13 are encouraged to try the Kids Fun Run and Obstacle Course. All guests are also highly encouraged to participate in our signature Wheelchair Walk\, where you can join Matheny residents\, families\, friends\, and staff as they “wheel” through campus – with lots of cheering along the way! You are also welcome to simply attend and cheer on these events\, while enjoying live music\, a barbeque and food trucks\, carnival games\, a petting zoo\, a bounce house\, and more! \nRegistration is open until June 6th\, but walk-ins are always welcome.
