Celebrate post July 4th as a family with fireworks, food, and fun at Bordentown’s Independence Day Celebration or Lambertville’s Free Fireworks Show. Spend some time outdoors at the Cumberland County Fair, the 26th Haddonfield Crafts & Fine Art Festival plus many more family-friendly events happening throughout New Jersey on this weekend.

1. Leonia Sports Boosters Carnival
Now Through July 8th, 2018
Enjoy midway rides for all ages, carnival games, favorite fair food and Fourth of July fireworks at this family-friendly annual event benefiting local competitive youth sports. Carnival parking and admission are free. Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36 inches and taller) are available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for $30, or $20 if purchased online by June 27. Ride tickets are $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. Rides take 2 or more tickets each. Visit the website for coupon savings on rides and food. Carnival hours are 5 to 11 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and noon to 11 pm Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. The July 4th fireworks display will start at 9:30 pm. 2. NJ State Fair Meadowlands
Now Through July 8th, 2018
The State Fair at the Meadowlands is calling families from all over NJ to take part in one of the biggest celebrations of summer fun! The event will feature over 150 rides and attractions!. To add to all of the festivities, there will be plenty of FREE Entertainment such as: The Steve Bayner Hypnotist Show (Main Stage); Rosaire’s Royal Racing Pigs (Main Midway); Open-Air Thrill Show; High Dive Show; Commerford’s Educational Petting Zoo (Main Midway): Open during Fair hours Animal rides are available, but are not free.

3. Cumberland County Fair
Tuesday, July 3 – Saturday, July 7, 2018
The Cumberland County Fair invites your family to a fun filled day of pig racing, monster truck rides, great food, a magician and comedian team, great farm and garden exhibits, some home and arts exhibits, and live music. As if they could not add anymore events to this jam packed lineup, there will also be an array of egg Russian roulette, Brain Wash Game show’s version of Family Feud, cracked walnuts strolling music, contests and games, and plenty of family friends rides. Your family will not want to miss all the fun on the farm.

4. Rutgers Gardens Blueberry/Apricot Festival

Want to learn more about Rutgers varieties of edible plants? Now’s your chance! This summer, Rutgers Gardens will be highlighting Rutgers varieties through a festival series. The blueberry and apricot festival will highlight Rutgers blueberries and apricots, through taste testing, cooking demonstrations, and so much more! Come taste the recipe chef Rachel Weston creates, paired with flavors from all of Rutgers Gardens’ vendors.

5. First Friday Fireworks in Lambertville/ New Hope

The Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the Summer 2018 Fireworks program to celebrate their communities and support their downtown businesses. These hugely popular displays are returning to their River Towns once again this year, so make sure your family makes an appearance out to Lambertville and New Hope to support their many fine stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

6. Wildwood Crest Sand Sculpting Festival

For the sixth time, the Annual Wildwood Crest Sand and Sculpting Festival is offering FREE amateur sand sculpting contests that also includes live music, beach games and more; all this will be taking place at the Heather Road beach in the shadows of the Wildwood Crest Beach Pier. This glorious event is open to all ages, and the whole family is encouraged to participate as a contestant or simply come by and check out all the interesting designs and sculptures while enjoying the great live music and more. The contest directed by world renowned sand sculptor Matt Long. There is nothing better than a great day at the beach, music, and the art of sand sculpting.

8. Brigantine Pirate Art Walk

Fine Art Painters, World Class Photographers, Acclaimed Jewelry Artisans and more will display and offer their original art for sale. Over 30 artists will line the seawall for an evening art & music. Live Music by Paul Mike & Dan from 3:15 to 5:15 and Danny K from 5:30 to 7:30. Come out and join the artists for an evening on the seawall. Plus, the Pirates Den is a BYOB and they have excellent food. This is sure to be a great evening!
