2019 Ninth Annual Edison Earth Day Celebration

The 2019 Ninth Annual Edison Earth Day Celebration will be co-presented by the Township of Edison, Edison Sustainable Jersey Green Team (ESJGT), Edison Clean Communities Program (ECCP) and Edison Township Environmental Commission (ETEC) on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The free, annual, outdoor, family-friendly, green/sustainable event will be staged at Papaianni Park, located at 100 Municipal Boulevard, Edison, NJ 08818.
A number of green/sustainable Presenters, Exhibitors, Vendors and Speakers are also planned. Event activities shall include: Volunteer Plantings, Site Cleaning, Organic Debris Consolidation and many other Green/Sustainable Actions; On-Site Air/Soil/Water Environmental Testing; Eco-Tour and Ecological/Historical Discussion of Papaianni Lake; Rock Wall; Fishing Derby; MCDEH Rain Barrel Demonstration, Home Composter Demonstration and Used Cooking Oil Collection; as well as other green/sustainable activities. Food will be available to purchase on-site.
No registration fees are required for 2019 EEDC Event Staff, Volunteers, Presenters, Exhibitors or Vendors. 2019 EEDC Sponsorships are available at a graduating scale of support. Elected Officials, Dignitaries and Green Advocates have been invited to attend.
Since 2011, Annual Edison Earth Day Celebrations have drawn an approximate total of 16,500 visitors and participants, to date. As in the past, this year (5/5/19) 3,000 visitors and participants are anticipated, including numerous volunteers, presenters and vendors.
Edison Clean Communities Program will provide free giveaways to event Sponsors, Vendors, and the first 150 Event Visitors. Additionally, on-site Volunteers shall participate in assisting event Vendors and Presenters with Set-Ups and Break-Downs, as well as Clearing and Cleaning the Site before and after the 2019 EEDC.
Participants and visitors at 2019 EEDC are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable foods for the Hands of Hope for the Community Food Pantry. Representatives shall be site to accept the donations.
Ample parking shall be available for event participants and visitors.
