In an age when children’s entertainment is more diverse and exciting than ever, “Kindie Rock” band, Play Date, encourages families to rethink the way they experience children’s music, by producing original songs that kids and parents both can enjoy together. Husband-and-wife duo Greg Attonito and Shanti Wintergate have strong New Jersey ties, as Greg is the lead vocalist and founding member of New Jersey rock legends and internationally acclaimed punk group, The Bouncing Souls. Play Date redefines what it means to entertain children of all ages by performing across the country throughout the year, including local performances and festivals throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

We strive to create an opportunity for families to share and enjoy a live-music experience together. Our goal has always been to make music that we enjoy listening to and playing, with the hopes that parents will enjoy it too. Kids music, for parents. We also have the understanding that in a lot of cases, this is one of the first live music experiences for a child. We honor that role and try to guide them through the process in a fun and encouraging way.  Almost like a “Rock Show 101.”

This fall, Play Date is going west to tour their celebrated sophomore album, We All Shine, a poppy, alt-rock full length record featuring tracks that will introduce your little ones to rock and roll with age-appropriate subject matter, including Stevie the Fox, Ninja Pajamas, and Cardboard Box. The record is a followup to the band’s first album, Imagination, with equally amusing titles like Anyone Can Sing, Rad, and the fan favorite, Dance Like a Monster#NJMOMtravels will be on the road with Play Date for their western tour, bringing readers fun and exciting new places from Seattle and Portland, to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Call your family and friends across the country and tell them to catch one of Play Date’s tour dates for an afternoon of high-energy, interactive music.

There’s always been a strong sense of self-discovery and independence in good kids’ music, and Play Date’s music has that for the punk rocker in training.
