This year the Skylands Stadium is hosting the coolest event for the winter time with an all new interactive carnival theme; who doesn’t want to be Frozen in Ice? The Frozen in Ice carnival introduces their new Kids’ ice slide, ice carousel, ice ferris wheel, and carnival games with plenty of prizes! Professional Ice artists from Sculpted Ice Works will be carving over 100 tons of ice into breathtaking masterpieces. In the outside area, there will be a S’mores fire pit, and a snowman building activity on the baseball field. As if things could not get any better: there is a ice lounge for adults as well as free parking for the event goers. This is an event your family won’t want to miss!

2. Palmer Square On Ice

Come see Palmer Square’s beautiful forestry transformed into an icy wonderland! Gaze at plenty whimsical sculptures, take pictures on an Ice Throne, enjoy hot chocolate at the Ice Bar, or warm yourself up by visiting all the markets. This event is welcome for all ages and is completely free, so don’t hesitate to take part in all the wintery fun!

3.  Grand Re-Opening of the Underground Railroad Museum

The Grand Re-Opening of the The Underground Railroad Museum at their brand new permanent location is a historical event you and your family do not want to miss! To reign in the celebration of Black History Month, the museum will be host to live music, poetry, and light refreshments for all! There will be a short opening ceremony at 1:30PM on Saturday, February 4th, and the event is completely free to the public. Since the museum holds a maximum of 40 people and is located in Historic Smithville Park, don’t forget to take a walk on the park grounds if the lines too long!

4. Renaissance Super Bowl Party!

Renaissance Church will be displaying Super Bowl LI on their massive screen at the Opera House. There will be food and drinks in the auditorium so you can mingle during the game and in-between commercials! All they ask of you is to show up and get ready to have a great evening at Renaissance Church!

5. Chocolate Family Festival

The Chocolate Family Festival is a day full of the greatest treat on earth, chocolate! Along with the sweets, lollipop mustache or lip crafts, games, and interactive activities such as chocolate inspired design face painting all will be taking place throughout the day. To top it all off, there will be a hands-on workshop with orchestral string instruments titled: Touch the Music Workshops for those of all ages.

In Lollipops for Breakfast, main character, Sylvie, decides she’s wants lollipops for breakfast, and she comes up with a sweet idea to make them from scratch! Sylvie and her trusty pet bird go off on a sugar-filled adventure to hunt for missing ingredients, combat giant candy machines, and get immersed in a magical pop-up cookbook. The show features puppetry, music, and is told entirely without words!

8. A Winter’s Day on the Farm
