1. Frozen in Ice Carnival
Friday, February 3 – Sunday, February 25 – 2017 | Click here for full schedule.
This month-long family festival is more than an amazing ice sculpture extravaganza. This indoor/outdoor event will feature more than 100 tons of ice transformed into breathtaking displays by the amazing ice artists, and features a Carnival theme with interactive indoor and outdoor activities that will thrill kids and parents alike. Indoor activities include a 50 foot giant ice-slide, ice carousel, ferris wheel, ice roller coaster, carnival games, candy store, hot food and beverages, and cocktails and wine in the unique “adults only” ice lounge. Outdoor activities include ice carving demonstrations, s’mores fire pit, and snowman building.

2. Chocolate Family Festival
Saturday, February 4, 2017 | 11:00AM – 4:00PM
Take part in a family-friendly day of sweet treats and savory activities: play chocolate inspired games, make tasty crafts, and watch Lollipops for Breakfast in the Theatre at Morris Museum. See Sylvie’s crazy candy antics as she decides to break the rule that, “you can’t have a lollipop for breakfast.”

3. All About Kids Fair

This fair has everything you need for a fun day out with the kids while shopping for information on the latest classes, camps, schools, and special programs. While parents look for the best gymnastics program, karate class, or preschool, kids will have a blast at the children’s vendors tables taking part in free crafts and activities and fun, interactive demonstrations.

4. Family Date Night
Friday, February 10 – Saturday, February 11, 2017 | 6:00PM – 9:00PM
Don’t leave the kids at home this year – spend Valentine’s weekend with the ones you love the most…the whole family! This date-night package includes admission to Jenkinson’s Aquarium, a plain pizza and pitcher of soda at the Pavilion, a $10 PlayCard for the Pavilion Arcade and four treats from the Sweet Shop. 6. Free Fun Family Concert

South Orange Symphony invites children and adults of all ages to this special free family concert. Little ones can get involved with the performance with interactive activities including marching along to the music, a special kids printed program, and an instrument petting zoo. Classic pieces were chosen to appeal to both kids and adults for a Sunday afternoon of learning about live orchestral music.

7. Laurita Winterfest

This celebrated family winter wonderland event is back and better than ever! Families from across the state will be in attendance for this huge event, featuring ice sculptures, classic winter activities, and a variety of themed food and beverages. Admission includes Kids Activities (huge playground, ice luge, mini-snowmobile), Food Trucks, Souvenir Laurita Wine Glass, Parking, Shuttle Service, and more.

8. State Theatre New Jersey’s Family Day Festival
Monday, February 20, 2017 | 10:00AM – 3:00PM
Looking for something to do on Presidents Day? At State Theatre New Jersey’s annual Family Day Festival, families can spend the holiday enjoying dozens of performances, workshops, and hands on activities (many of which are free) plus costumed characters, face painting, balloon animals, games, a photo booth, coloring station, food, and more. The day-long festival spreads across State Theatre and the adjacent venues, bringing downtown New Brunswick alive with nonstop activity.

10. Asbury Park Mardi Gras

Asbury Park Mardi Gras is back  for free family fun with mask making, face painting, and music on a Saturday afternoon. Little ones and adults alike can participate in free face painting, mask making, and live music. Pick up your free mask at Backwards Glances in the Shoppes at the Arcade on Cookman Avenue, and visit businesses throughout town to find free decorations to add to your mask. Winners of kid and adult divisions will be chosen at 5:15PM. If you’re still ready to party after the family fun, stick around for the Masquerade Ball at House of Independents Saturday night for live New Orleans music to get you dancing.
